- Hourly encrypted backups to an external disk, a folder, an SFTP server, or S3-compatible storage, built on restic 0.19.1.
- Weekly integrity checks and monthly read-back verification, on a schedule, without being asked.
- Monthly restore drills: real files restored from the backup and compared byte for byte with the originals.
- A Proof view with a dated, plain-English history, exportable as a PDF.
- APFS snapshots for consistency, battery and metered-network awareness, and stale-lock detection.
- A recovery sheet that includes how to read your backup without Backstop at all.
